Iggesund’s 3d Water Lily Pop-Up
To demonstrate the folding qualities of Iggesund’s Invercote paper, we designed a fold-it-yourself 3d water lily pop-up. After it has been assembled, the lily has a small tea light that sits in its centre illuminating the curved petals and intricate florets. The luminous water lilies look great on mantelpieces, or they could perfectly decorate a wedding or party. Furthermore, since the Invercote paper has been laminated, the water lilies can float on water.

Originally, we produced the lilies for the Luxe Pack creative packaging trade show. Our paper engineer, Iain, hosted Iggesund’s stall, showing people how to make their own lilies, while also promoting the new Invercote paperboard. Having made their 3d water lily pop-up, people were keen to take them home as souvenirs.
The pop-up artwork comes as eight flat sheets which hold the pieces you coax out and fold. All the sheets have been die-cut, so they are ready to slot together. After some creasing and slotting, the pieces form a beautiful water lily complete with the warm glow of a tea light.
